Baseball Releases 2012 Schedule

The Trojan baseball team is slated to host 30 games at Riddle-Pace Field during 2012.

The 2012 Troy baseball schedule headlined by two matchups with SEC schools, Auburn and Alabama, as well as a conference schedule that features home series with Louisiana-Monroe, South Alabama, Arkansas State, Florida Atlantic, and Middle Tennessee was released on Monday, by tenth-year Head Coach Bobby Pierce.
The Trojans face a 55-game slate with 30 of those contests being played Riddle-Pace Field, home of the 2011 Sun Belt Regular Season Champions.The Trojans will play 15 games against six different opponents that advanced to a NCAA Regional last season.
The 2012 regular season starts on Friday, Feb. 17 with a four-game series with the Central Michigan Chippewas (Feb. 17-19).
The non-conference schedule highlights road trips to Southern Mississippi (Feb. 25-27) and to Bethune Cookman (Mar. 2-4). Both teams advanced to a NCAA Regional last season.
The home non-conference schedule brings East Carolina to Troy for the first in program history on Mar. 6 as well as Monmouth for a three-game series on March 9-11. , In-state opponents such as: Samford (Feb. 28), UAB (Mar. 6), Alabama (Mar. 20), Alabama State (Mar. 28), Jacksonville State (April 10), Auburn (April 24), and Alabama A&M (April 25) all pay visit to Riddle-Pace Field in 2012.
The 30-game conference schedule will begin on March 16 at 6:00 p.m. with a trip to Stanky Field to face South Alabama and will end when the Jaguars return to Riddle-Pace Field to round out conference play on May 17-19.
The Trojans will play Arkansas State, Middle Tennessee, Florida Atlantic, Lousiana-Monroe, and South Alabama at home, while traveling to South Alabama, Arkansas-Little Rock, Florida International, Western Kentucky, and Louisiana.
The Sun Belt Conference Tournament will be held May 23-27, in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
The NCAA postseason starts with Regional play at selected sites from June 1-4, followed by the Super Regional the following weekend, June 8-11. The College World Series begins on Friday, June 15 and will run through Tuesday, June 26 at
TD Ameritrade Field in Omaha, Nebraska.
