Rejuvenated by a three-game sweep of WKU over the weekend, the No. 22 Troy Trojans are riding a four-game winning streak into Tuesday's match-up with UAB.
First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. on the Blazers' home turf in Birmingham's Southside.
The battle is a rematch of last Tuesday's game in Troy that the Trojans lost 8-1. Troy does lead the all-time series with the Blazers 22-19, but trails UAB 13-7 in games played at Young Memorial Field.
Last season, the Trojans knocked off UAB 8-4 on the back of two RBI's from second baseman T.J. Rivera. The Bronx, N.Y.-native was joined by former Trojan Ryan Ditthardt with a pair of run scoring hits. Thomas Austin got the win out of the bullpen.
Adam Bryant leads the Trojans with four home runs, 18 doubles and 40 RBI. Freshman Ali Knowles has the top batting average on the team (.350). UAB is paced by outfielder Jamaal Austin (.358 BA) - who missed last week's game due to illness.
Shane McCain (1-2, 3.96 ERA) will make his second straight start against the Blazers. Last week, he made it into the fifth inning, but was lifted with two out after his second throwing error. UAB counters with junior southpaw David Hayes (1-2, 5.57 ERA).
Barry McKnight and Jerry Miller will have all the action from the diamond on the Troy Sports Network by IMG College beginning at 6:15 p.m.
