TROY, Ala. – The Troy men's basketball team returns home for two contests before Christmas, starting with a Tuesday-night match-up against Southern Utah at Sartain Hall.
The contest between the Trojans and Thunderbirds, which was originally scheduled for Monday, will tip-off on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. The game will also mark Faculty and Staff Appreciation Night.
Tickets for the contest with Southern Utah were printed with Monday, December 19, as the date of the game, but fans with tickets with Monday's date will be admitted into Tuesday's game.
Troy faculty and staff will receive $4 admission tickets for the game with a valid Troy Staff/Faculty ID.
“We hope that many of our faculty and staff will be able to join us for some basketball at Sartain Hall next Tuesday night,” Director of Athletics Steve Dennis said. “We appreciate all they are doing for our university and most importantly in the lives of our students.”

Gameday Storylines
- The Trojans will be facing Southern Utah for the second time this season. Troy defeated the Thunderbirds, 80-76, on the road in Cedar City back on November 26, 2011. The win was the first non-conference road win for the Trojans in nearly two seasons.
- Tuesday night's contest marks the first of three games in three nights at Sartain Hall. The Troy women's basketball team will take on Kennesaw State on Wednesday before the men return to the floor on Thursday to take on UTSA. All three games are set for 7:00 p.m.
- Troy comes into Tuesday's game having lost two straight (at Mississippi State, at Belmont). The Trojans however, are 3-0 thus far this season at Sartain Hall, in the 50th and final season at the facility.
- Southern Utah enters the contest well rested, having last played on December 10 at Weber State. The Thunderbirds come into Troy having lost three straight, with the first being the loss to the Trojans back in November.
- Troy, who averages 10.6 three-pointers per game, one of the top marks in the country, will look to regain their shooting touch. The Trojans have made just 11 threes in the last two games, including just three at Belmont, the lowest total for the Trojans since a February win over Denver last season.
