Troy Falls in Dead River Classic

Trojan women's basketball fell to Maine in the first round of the Dead River Classic on Friday.

Orono, Maine – The Troy (0-4, 0-0) women's basketball team fell to Maine (2-2, 0-0) in the first round of the Dead River Company Classic tournament, 66-53.
The Trojans' continued to suffer through turnover errors, but were able to pick up 20 points off of Black Bear turnovers.
Freshman Rosie Hynes got her first start as she replaced the Sophie Kleeman in the Trojan starting lineup.
Tenia Manuel picked up her first double-double of the season as she recorded 11 points and 10 rebounds.
“We did a good job on defense but we had too many offensive turnovers,” said head coach Michael Murphy. “Overall I'm pleased with our effort.”
The Trojans will now face the Evansville Aces on Saturday in their second contest of the tournament.
