Trojans Set to Open with WKU

MIAMI, Fla. – The Troy volleyball team is in south Florida this week as they prepare for the Sun Belt Conference Championships being hosted by FIU at U.S. Century Bank Arena.
The Trojans, who earned the No.8 seed in the tournament, will take on the No.1 seed, WKU on Thursday in their first round match-up. The Trojans and Lady Toppers are set to begin at 4:00 p.m. CT. in the third match of the day
The winner will move on to face the winner of Thursday night's match between No.4 FIU and No.5 Denver.
The tournament runs from Thursday to Saturday, with the winner earning an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.

STORYLINES
- The Trojans have qualified for the Sun Belt Tournament for just the second time with the first coming in 2005, Troy's first year in the league.
- Troy also faced WKU in the first round that year as they fell to the Lady Toppers.
- The Trojans are 0-15 all-time against WKU including two losses this season. WKU holds a 2-0 advantage over Troy in matches on neutral courts.
- Troy (16-14, 6-10) is guaranteed its first winning season since 2003 when the Trojans finished 14-13.
- Courtney Cohen enters the match as the league's leader at 4.57 digs/set. Her 512 total digs have already set a Troy single-season record. In just the second season of her career, Cohen is already nearing the 1,000 dig mark as she sits enters the week with 943 in her career.
- Brittany McClelland finished the regular season with a career-high 90 total blocks and 76 block assists, bringing her career total in those two categories to 285 and 239, respectively. That places McClelland second in school history in total blocks and first in block assists.
