MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Troy volleyball team closed out one of the toughest road trips in the Sun Belt on Saturday night as they fell in straight sets at Middle Tennessee. The loss marks the Trojans fourth straight, which have all come on the road.

The Trojans continue their Sun Belt road trip on Thursday when they travel to Mobile, Ala. to take on South Alabama. The Trojans will return home on October 21 when they host Denver.

MIDDLE TENNESSEE 3, TROY 0 (25-19, 25-23, 25-23)

The Trojans (12-8, 2-4) were led offensively by Breanna Cullity who posted nine kills while Natasha Kolunija and Lucy Cikra each posted seven. Mailande Parker recorded 26 assists while Courtney Cohen's 15 digs led the Trojans.

Troy hit .126 as a team while the Blue Raiders (8-9, 6-1) hit .226, led by Ashley Adams' 20 kills.

The Trojans had a chance in all three sets, but fell short in each. Troy was within two at 15-13 in the first set and within three at 20-17, but Middle Tennessee used three straight points to pull ahead, 23-17 and take the first set, 25-19.

Troy led the second set late at 20-13, but Middle Tennessee fought back and tied things up at 22-22. The two sides were also tied at 23-23, but the Blue Raiders used two straight to close the set, 25-23.

The third set was a tight one as the two sides found themselves tied on 10 different occasions, however, with the score tied at 23-23 again, the Blue Raiders again used two straight to take the set, 25-23, and the match, 3-0.
