BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Troy University volleyball team suffered its third straight road defeat as the Trojans fell to WKU in straight sets on Friday night.

The Trojans return to the floor on Saturday night when they travel to Murfreesboro, Tenn., to take on Middle Tennessee. The Trojans and Blue Raiders are set to begin at 7:00 p.m. at Alumni Gym.

WKU 3, TROY 0 (25-9, 25-10, 25-19)

The Trojans (12-7, 2-3) struggled with the potent WKU attack as the Lady Toppers hit .309 as a team in the match, but the Trojans were their own worst enemies as they hit -.022 as a team with 18 kills and 20 errors.

Natasha Kolunija and Lucy Cikra each posted five kills for the Trojans while Courtney Cohen led the squad with 11 digs.

Troy fell victim to a late run in the first set as they fell to WKU, 25-9. The Trojans trailed the Lady Toppers (18-2, 5-1) by just three points at 10-7, but only managed two more points.

The second set belonged to the Lady Toppers as WKU hit .708 in the set with 18 kills and just one error in a 25-10 win.

The Trojans seemed to turn things around in the third set as they fought back from down 16-10, to within two points at 20-18. However, the Trojans only managed one more point as they fell to the Lady Toppers, 25-19.
