Then, after the Trojans pulled to within four at 21-17 with 9:27 to play, UALR went on a 23-0 run over the next eight minutes to take a commanding 44-17 lead. The Trojans were able to end their scoring drought as McNair connected on a lay-up with just 60 seconds remaining in the half to trim the lead to 44-19. However, UALR scored the last basket of the half to take a 46-19 halftime lead.
The Trojans couldn't recover from the run in the first half, as they came out and scored the first five points of the second half. Every time the Trojans made a run, UALR answered with one of their own to pull away for the victory.
The Trojans return to action next Saturday at home against the University of North Texas. The game has been moved to 4 pm to accommodate television for the men's game, with the pregame show beginning at 3:45 pm on WTBF-94.7 FM.
