Troy Opens Home Conference Play

The Troy Volleyball team will open home conference play this weekend, hosting Arkansas State and UALR

TROY, Ala.- The Troy volleyball team will open home conference play this weekend when the Trojans play host to the Arkansas State Red Wolves and UALR Trojans.
"This is a huge weekend for us." head coach Sonny Kirkpatrick said, "We need to continue to play well in hopes to win either match. We are looking forward to hosting two conference schools and having big crowds to help cheer us on."
Troy will face Arkansas State Friday night at 7 p.m. in Sartain Hall. The Trojans have been unable to beat the Red Wolves since 2004 and have an 0-6 record against the conference foes.
Troy will take on the Trojans of UALR Saturday night at 7 p.m. Troy has an 0-5 record against the UALR Trojans, recording an 0-3 record at home.
Leading Troy in conference play so far this year are senior Megan Henderson, junior Natasha Kolunija, and freshman Courtney Cohen. In just two conference matches, Henderson has recoreded 66 assists, 23 digs, and a .323 attack percentage. Kolunija has recorded 24 kills, averaging 3.23 kills/set, and a .404 attack percentage. Cohen has recorded 52 digs, averaging 7.43 digs/set for Troy.
