Troy closes out regular season on the road against FIU and FAU

TROY, Ala. - The Troy University Trojans volleyball team heads to south Florida this weekend to close out their season by playing the FIU Golden Panthers and Florida Atlantic Owls.

"Going into this final weekend, we have a good chance to end on a positive note," head coach Sonny Kirkpatrick said. "We play two quality teams and it will be good to continue to play well like we did last weekend."

Troy will face FIU for the second time this season on Friday at 6:30 p.m. The Trojans have never been able to beat the Golden Panthers, as FIU leads the overall series 10-0.

On Saturday Troy will take on the Owls of Florida Atlantic at 2 p.m. Florida Atlantic leads the overall series with Troy 13-6.

The Trojans are led in conference play by senior Megan Henderson, junior Natasha Kolunija and freshman Courtney Cohen. Henderson has been an anchor on the offensive side of the ball recording 405 assists, averaging 8.10 digs/set, 143 digs, and a .346 attack percentage.

Meanwhile, Kolunija has recorded 130 kills, averaging 2.60 kills/set, a .204 attack percentage, and 25 total blocks. Cohen continues to be a force for the Trojan defense recording 169 digs, averaging 4.45 digs/set.
