Troy Takes On South Alabama In "Dig For the Cure" Friday

TROY, Ala. - The Troy University volleyball team host the Lady Jags of the University of South Alabama Friday night at 7 pm, playing at home for the third consecutive weekend. The match will mark the Trojans annual "Dig For The Cure" match, with fans are encourgaed to wear pink in support for both teams.
The Trojans lead the series with South Alabama 17-13, including an 8-4 record competing in Sartain Hall. The series with the Lady Jags is tied 4-4 since Troy joined the SunBelt in 2005.
Troy is led in conference play by senior Megan Henderson, junior Brittany McClelland and freshman Courtney Cohen. Henderson continues to be a leader on the court for the Trojans, recording 173 assists, averaging 8.65 assists/set. She also has recorded 65 digs, averaging 3.25 digs/set in conference play.
McClelland has recorded 50 kills, averaging 2.50 kills/set and has a .218 attack percentage for Troy; while Cohen continues has recorded 98 digs, averaging 4.90 digs/set while in conference play.
This will be the first of two meetings between Troy and South Alabama, as the two will play again in November in Mobile.
