Trojans Hold Annual Banquet

TROY - The Troy University softball program honored its 2009 team last week when the annual awards banquet was held.
The Trojans finished the 2009 season in third place in the Sun Belt Conference. That team also saw two NFCA All-Region players, an Academic All-District honoree, four All-Sun Belt performers, a Sun Belt Newcomer of the Year, Sun Belt Coach of the Year, and the first ever Trojan to go professional.
Junior pitcher Ashlyn Williams headlined the night by capturing Player of the Year honors as voted by her teammates. Williams struck 312 batters, a Troy single season record, while going 25-13 and posting a 1.83 ERA.
