Trojans Host UALR in Conference Series

TROY, Ala.-The Troy Trojans lost the last three games to UALR and look to return the favor in a three game conference series this weekend.

"Our guys remember last year when they swept us," coach Bobby Pierce said. "We need to win this series because it is going to be a tough road ahead for the next month of the season."

The Trojans currently sit in second behind Louisiana-Monroe, who is in sole possession of first place in the Sun Belt Conference standings.

UALR enters this weekend's contest at 8-25 overall and 4-12 in conference play. Troy sits at 22-16 overall and 10-5 in Sun Belt Conference action.

Troy got a much needed win Wednesday night over Samford. Michael Precise paced the attack with a grand slam in the fifth inning as he finished the game with six RBI. Senior Rob Brown picked up his first win of the season in the game

Troy will send sophomore Tim Wheeler (2-4, 4.98 ERA) to the hill Friday night with senior Ryan Ellison (2-1, 4.53 ERA) toeing the rubber on Saturday.

UALR will counter with Davis Klumpp (1-6, 6.32 ERA) and with Levi Laughlin (4-2, 6.26 ERA) throwing Saturday.

First pitch is set for 6 pm.
