Brooks Powers Trojans Past Owls

Brooks finished the day with a single, double and a homerun and one RBI.
Brooks and Henry struck again in the fourth inning when Brooks singled and scored on a double to left field from Henry for his second RBI of the day giving
Michael Powers (1-0) got off to a strong start as he struck out three of the first eight batters he faced. He retired eight Owl batters in a row before issuing a two-out walk to Ross Tendler. Jacob Robbins got the first hit of the game for Kennesaw in the bottom of the third inning.
Powers' day was finished after going five complete innings allowing only three hits. He walked one batter and struck out six.
Senior Rob Brown followed Powers to go 1 1/3 innings allowing one run on two hits. He walked one batter while striking out one.
Freshman Drew Hull pitched the next 2 1/3 innings holding the Owls hitless while walking one and striking out a batter.
A.J. Howard (1) came on with two outs in the ninth to close the game and get the save by striking out the only batter he faced.
Micah Sales (0-1) took the loss on the hill for the Owls. He went five innings allowing two runs on four hits while walking one and striking out three.
The Trojans will return to action this weekend in the Screentech Wiregrass Classic.
