Trojans Take Series with 1-0 Win

TROY, Ala. - Angela Lopez tossed a two-hit shut-out of Western Kentucky to complete her second impressive pitching performance of the weekend and lead Troy to a 1-0 victory and series win over Western Kentucky.
Lopez (7 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 7 K) picked up her second victory in as many days over Western Kentucky (15-22, 3-6 SBC) to improve her record to 12-3.
Lopez threw a no-hitter in the first game of the series on Saturday and for the weekend she pitched 14 innings allowing only two hits and no runs while striking out 13 and walking four.
Troy (29-9, 9-3 SBC) scored the only run of the game in the second inning on an Amanda Ragans home run to left-center field.
The home run was Ragans' team leading seventh of the season. She finished the game one-for-two at the plate.
Jessica Lyle also starred offensively for the Trojans contributing her ninth and tenth doubles of the season, respectively.
Lyle also stole her eight base of the season.
The Trojans return to action on Tuesday as the travel to Atlanta, Ga. to face Georgia State in a double-header scheduled to begin at 1 pm CST.
