Trojans to Open Up Conference Play Saturday

Troy leads the overall series with the Blue Raiders 18-12. Last year, Middle Tennessee defeated Troy twice before Troy was able to break through and win the final game of the series 5-3 in Murfreesboro.
The Trojans (15-5, 0-0 SBC) are coming off a 3-1 victory over in-state rival Auburn on Wednesday. The victory was the first over the Tigers since 2003.
In the game against Auburn, the Trojans used a two-run first inning double from Rocky Paige to take a 2-0 lead early in the game. Stacey Dwyer connected on a triple for the Trojans and then was able to score on a Jessica Lyle double to win 3-1.
Middle Tennessee (11-13, 2-1 SBC) is coming off a 2-1 series win against nationally ranked and conference opponent Louisiana-Lafayette. ULL, ranked #15 in the nation, defeated the Blue Raiders 4-1 in the first game on Wednesday before Middle Tennessee took the night game 5-3. The Blue Raiders were able to take the series from ULL as they won 4-3 on Thursday.
Game time against Middle Tennessee is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday with the second game scheduled for around 3 p.m. Sunday's game is scheduled for noon.
