Trojans Split Games with Blue Jays

In the first game the Trojans wasted very little time getting on the board. In the first inning, senior Bryan Miller reached on a fielders' choice and advanced to second on a single from Michael Precise. Both runners scored on a double in the gap off the bat of junior Beau Brooks for the early 2-0 lead.
In the second inning, the Blue Jays plated three runs due to a fielding error by sophomore Steven Felix keeping the inning alive with two outs. Mike Mitsos hammered a ball over wall in centerfield giving the Blue Jays the 3-2 lead.
In the third inning, the Blue Jays' Ben Chan hit the second home run of the day off of senior Ryan Ellison increasing their lead to 4-2.
The Blue Jays added a run in the fourth and fifth inning padding the lead, 6-2.
Lance Miller hit a home run in the sixth inning closing the gap to 6-3.
In the seventh inning, Bart Pettus drew a lead off walk and scored on a double down the right field line by Brett Henry closing the score to 7-4.
Brooks led the Trojans in the first game with a double and two RBI. Felix, Lance Miller, Bryan Miller and Henry each added a hit.
Nick Fogarty kept the Trojans off balance in the first game scattering five hits in five innings of work. He gave up two runs while striking out two Trojan hitters.
Ellison took the loss on the hill going three innings allowing four runs on three hits while walking one and striking out five. Junior Andrew Dickinson gave up two runs on four hits in two innings of work. Senior Rob Brown had impressive sixth inning by striking out the side. In the seventh inning, he walked three batters and hit another allowing the Blue Jays to plate another run.
Game 2
Steven Felix led off the game with a single to right followed by a walk to Bart Pettus. Brett Henry doubled to right field scoring both runners. Henry later scored on a sacrifice fly by Lance Miller for the 3-0 lead.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, catcher Josh Blackwell led off the inning with a single and was plated on a home run by Bryan Miller. Miller blasted a 2-0 fastball over the wall in center giving the Trojans the 5-0 lead.
Charlie Williams reached base on a fielders' choice and scored on a double in the gap from Lance Miller. Mike Precise hit a ball deep into the woods behind the wall in left scoring Williams for the 8-0 lead.
Daryl Otwell and Miller homered in the sixth inning widening the lead to 10-0. The home run was Miller's second of the game.
Travis Burge and Pete Van Horn combined to shutout out the Blue Jays through the first five innings. Each pitcher allowed two hits with Burge striking out three and Van Horn fanning five. Eric Hansen the final two innings preserving the win.
