Trojans' Adcock Named A-Sun Pitcher of the Week

MACON, Ga. -- Troy University right-handed pitcher Brent Adcock was named Atlantic Sun Conference Pitcher of the Week for the week of February 21-27.
Adcock, a native of Watertown, Tenn., earned the Trojans' first weekly honor of the season with an outstanding pitching performance against Big Ten foe Iowa on Friday night at the Screentech Wiregrass Baseball Classic in Dothan, Ala.
In seven innings of work, Adcock (2-1) allowed just a bunt single and one unearned run while walking only one and posting a career-high 13 strikeouts in a 6-1 Troy victory.
After not recording a single strikeout in his first 5 2/3 innings of work this season, Adcock has posted 17 strikeouts in his last 9 1/3 innings.
The Trojans (6-3) will return to Riddle-Pace Field on Wednesday night at 6 p.m. against intra-state rival Jacksonville State. Adcock will make his next start on Friday in Troy in the first of a three-game series against Saint Louis University from Conference USA. That game is slated for a 6 p.m. start.
