Julia Brooks enters her second season as a graduate assistant coach at Troy. She specifically works with the Trojans middle hitters as well as aiding with the development of Troy’s blockers and pin attackers.
The 2024 season saw the Trojans finish with an overall record of 13-14, highlighted by an 8-3 mark inside Trojan Arena.Â
Brooks spent five seasons (2019-23) playing for the Trojans, and finished her collegiate career with the seventh-most kills in program history (1,435), the most total blocks in program history (429), the most solo blocks in program history (108) and the most block assists in program history (321). She was named All-Sun Belt First Team in 2021 and 2023, and All-Sun Belt Second Team in 2022. In addition to her yearly honors, Brooks also earned five weekly awards from the conference. She is the only player in Troy history with more than 1,000 kills and 400 blocks, and sits fourth all-time in total points scored with 1,714.
Following the 2023 season, Brooks signed a professional contract to play volleyball in Portugal with Esmoriz GC.Â
Brooks, a native of St. Louis, Mo., was a two-sport athlete at Parkway North High School, playing both soccer and volleyball. She competed in club volleyball with High Performance-STL for four seasons. She graduated from Troy in 2023 with a degree in physical education.Â
