Aubrie Lisenby prepares for her first season with the Trojans in 2026-27 as the new Director of Player Development.
“We are thrilled to welcome Aubrie to the Troy softball family,” Newell said. “She embodies the character, toughness and competitive spirit we value at Troy. Her experience as a catcher in one of the nation’s top conferences, combined with her desire to invest in our student-athletes, makes her an outstanding addition to our program. She has a bright future in college softball, and we are grateful to add her as our director of player development.”
Lisenby spent four seasons as a Tiger, during which she finished second in program history in fielding percentage at .994 in 120 games and 95 starts. She also tied the single-season record for the Tigers with a 1.000 fielding percentage in 2023. In her final season (2025), Lisenby served as Auburn’s primary catcher, allowing zero passed balls throughout.
As the primary catcher, Lisenby worked with Maddie Penta (2022-24) and SJ Geurin (2025), who combined to earn SEC Pitcher of the Year, NFCA First Team All-American, NFCA All-Gulf Region Second Team, USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year finalist, D1 Softball National Pitcher of the Week, SEC Pitcher of the Week and Softball America Star of the Week honors. While working with her teammates on the mound, she caught a perfect game, a combined perfect game and multiple no-hitters.
The Huntsville, Ala., native comes to Troy after a season as the founder and director of the Player Development Program, helping the Tigers to a 27-28 record with wins over No. 13 Clemson, No. 18 Oregon, No. 4 Florida and No. 15 Texas A&M. In her lone season, she founded and directed a comprehensive baseball and softball player development program focused on long-term athletic growth and designed individualized development plans based on athlete evaluations, performance goals and position-specific needs. Lisenby also led structured multi-day weekly training in hitting, catching, throwing, defensive development, game awareness and mental performance.
At Auburn, she coached Auburn to two SEC Tournament victories over Missouri, 6-2, and No. 15 Texas A&M, 11-8, before the season ended, 10-9, to No. 7 Florida in the quarterfinals. Lisenby also helped coach Alyssa Hastings to the All-SEC Second Team, who transferred from Lipscomb to lead Auburn in batting average (.307), slugging percentage (.547) and on-base percentage (.402) against SEC foes.
As a student at Auburn, Lisenby earned a bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences with a minor in sports coaching. She finished second in the Auburn University Undergraduate Research Symposium, while publishing two peer-reviewed biomechanics research articles in the Auburn University Journal of Undergraduate Scholarship (AUJUS).
