Lane Whitsell begins his first season as an assistant coach for the Troy men's and women's golf programs in 2026-27.
Whitsell joins the Trojans following a season as an assistant coach for the men’s and women’s teams at Newberry College, in addition to serving as a junior golf assistant at the Country Club of Spartanburg.
Whitsell was an all-conference golfer at Limestone University and was voted team captain his senior season. While competing for the Saints, Whitsell worked in operations at the Country Club of Spartanburg. He was also a professional caddie on the Gpro Tour, Kornferry Tour and All Pro Tour.
He earned his degree in administration from Limestone in 2024 and his M.B.A. from North Greenville University in 2025.
