In 2015, Southern Miss finished 9-5 with a berth in the Heart of Dallas Bowl against Washington. The Golden Eagle offense ranked fifth in the nation in total touchdowns, seventh in total points, eighth in total passing yards and completions, and 12th in points per game and passing yards per game. Southern Miss was just the second school in FBS history with a 4,000-yard passer, a 1,000-yard receiver and two 1,000-yard rushers.
Prior to his time in Hattiesburg, Finley served as an assistant director of athletic performance for football at UAB during the 2014 season. Finley filled the role of assistant director of athletic performance for football at Washington State during their 2014 winter workouts.
From 2013-2014, Finley served as one of the five strength and conditioning coaches for football at Auburn during its BCS National Championship appearance. While at Auburn he also served as the head strength and conditioning coach for the 2013 national championship equestrian team. He also served as the assistant strength coach for the softball team.
Finley was a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach at Arkansas State during its 2012 Sun Belt Conference championship season. He also served as the primary coach for the men’s and women’s track & field and bowling programs while at Arkansas State.
Finley served as the head strength and conditioning coach and running backs coach for Opelika (Ala.) High School in 2012.
Finley has a host of certifications including SCCC, USAW-II, PN-I and FMS.
