Course Description and Objectives:
- Discuss the weight training philosophy
- Understand the proper use of machines
- Train using machines based on this knowledge
- Enjoy training as a lifetime fitness recreation
- Train with weights as a stress reliever
Course Content:
Handouts and notes the teacher gives:
- The muscle of the body that are being worked
- Each machine, how it works, how to use it, and what muscles it works
Machines Included:
- Leg Extension
- Leg Curl
- Leg Press
- Preacher Curl
- Triceps Extension
- Hammer Equipment
- Compound Row
- Overhand Press
- Abdominal Work
- Multi-Work Machine (Cable)
- Dip/Chin-up
Grading Method of Both 1142 / 2242
- 30%- Participation ( properly dressed and working out)
- 30%- Diary ( Recording height, weight, goals, and 3 workouts per week)
- 40%- Knowledge Exam
This is your Mid-Term. It consist of the material discussed in class
Grading Scale:
A= 100-90
B= 89-80
C= 79-70
D= 69-60
F= 59 or below
Absence Policy: Attendance is Mandatory!!!!!!!! After 3 Unexcused Absences, an FA will result. You must be present a written excuse upon immediate return to class for the absence to be excused. No exceptions!!!!!!!!!
Tardiness will no be tolerated!! This class only meets once a week and lasts for 50 minutes therefore you will make it on time. 3 tardies will equal 1 absence!!!!
