Cheerleading Tryout Information
2010-2011 Troy University Cheerleading Tryouts
All tryout activities will be held in Trojan Arena. The actual tryout date will be open to the public.
Friday April 30, 2010 5pm-8pm
(check-in and warm up)
- One cheer andfight songwill be taught for female and male participants.
Saturday May 1, 2010 8am-6pm
(check-in and warm up)
- Review of cheer and fight song.
- You will have an opportunity to find a stunt partner or group for tryouts.
- Captain interviews will begin at 1pm-3pm. (you have to be previously on the squad)
- Interviews will begin at 3pm-6pm (dress is business attire)
Sunday May 2, 2010 7am-12pm
(check-in and warm up)
- Roll call will begin at 8am.
- All participants trying out will need to wear a white shirt and black shorts.
- Tryouts are open to the public, admissions charge $3.00.

Stunts
Co-Ed
- Toss Liberty/Pop Off
- Toss Heel Stretch/Double Down cradle
- Arabesque/Double Down cradle
- Optional Stunt/Full or Double Down cradle
All-Girl
- Liberty/Double Downcradle
- Heel Stretch/Double Down cradle
- Arabesque/Double Downcradle
- Optional Stunt/Full or double down cradle
Tumbling (no spots will be offered during tryouts)
- Standing tuck
- Standing backhandspring tuck
- Running series (round -off handspring tuck or better---minimum of three tricks)
Cheer (taught during clinic)
Fight Song (taught during clinic)
T-Roy mascot requirements
3 minute skit and dance
Squad Composition
- Co-Ed is composed of at least 6 males and 6 females.
- All Girl is composed of at least8 females.
- The squad is composed ofat least 2mascots (T-roy).
- Competition team is composed of both all girl and co-ed squads. Alternates will be chosen closer to competition season.
Scholarship Information
Co-Ed: The individuals selected as Co-Ed cheerleaders will receive a scholarship of $1,000 divided into two academic terms. This squad cheers for home football games, men's basketball, women's basketball, volleyball games, all related pep rallies and activities, competitions, and any other events or games approved by the coach.
All Girl: The individuals selected as All Girl cheerleaders will receive a scholarship of $1000 divided into two academic terms. This squad cheers for home football games, men's basketball, women's basketball games, volleyball games, all related pep rallies and activities, competitions, and any other events or games approved by the coach.
T-Roy: The individual(s) selected as T-Roy will receive a scholarship for $1,000 divided into two academic terms. The mascot will be responsible for football, basketball (men's & women's), volleyball games, all related pep rallies and activities, competitions, and any other event or games approved by the coach.
Travel Squad: The individuals who are in the top scoring bracket from tryouts will be chosen to be on the travel squad. The travel team could compose of both co-ed and all girl cheerleaders. They will travel to away football games, bowl games, and basketball tournaments.

- Medical Release Form
- Application fee $40 (Make checks payable to Troy University Cheerleaders)
- Photocopy of front and back of insurance card
