Attendance Policy
Students accept responsibility for attending scheduled class meetings, completing assignments on time, and contributing to class discussion and exploration of ideas. Student-athletes are expected to attend all classes except for a University excuse absence.
Remember: There is a strong correlation between class attendance and grades.

On the first or second day of class, the student-athlete should:
- Inform each professor of his/her student-athlete status and identify the potential of missed class days due to competition. Ask each professor what his/her policy is regarding missed classes.
- Present each professor with written notification of expected absence due to competition. Give a copy of schedule to the professor.
- Remind professors of his/her upcoming absence.
- Ask professors for information regarding material to be covered and assignments to be made during the absence.
- Present each professor a written notification from the Faculty Athletics Representative and the Associate Provost of missed class excuses.
