25 Chase Riddle
1979-90
Between 1979 and 1990, while Chase Riddle roamed the dugouts and coaches boxes of Pace Field, the Troy State baseball program rose from regional obscurity to national powerhouse. Riddle finished as the winningest coach in school history - in any sport - with 434 wins. His overall record of 434-147-2, a .744 winning percentage, ranked him among the top 10 Division II coaches in winning percentage.
His teams won two national championships (an narrowly missed out on three others), six regional titles and captured five Gulf South Conference crowns. He was named Coach of the Year in 1986 and 1987 and nabbed Regional Coach of the Year awards in 1980, 1981, 1982, 1985, 1986 and 1987.
His teams won 71.2 percent of their conference games (92-37-1) and had an 80.9 winning percentage at TSU's Pace Field (253-59-1). His teams were 36-18 in NCAA post-season play, including an amazing 24-10 mark in regional play and a 12-8 record at the College World Series. Three of Riddle's teams won more than 40 games and four more won at least 35 games. He produced 10 first-team All-Americans, 30 total All-America and 36 first-team All-Gulf South Conference performers.

1977-81
On November 14, 1998, former Troy women's basketball player Denise Monroe had her jersey retired.
Monroe, a native of Quitman, Ga., came to Troy in the fall of 1977, where she began four incredible seasons as a member of the women's basketball program, playing until 1981.
She finished her career as Troy's all-time leading scorer with 2,011 points, averaging 17.8 points per game in 113 games. Monroe still holds the career scoring record and the record for most career field goals with 818. She also made 375 free throws, the school's all-time best, and shot an amazing 51.8 percent from the floor. She ranks second in career rebounding at Troy with 1,312 total rebounds.
Monroe's career highlights included being named second-team All-America her senior year (1980-81). She was also named each season to both the AIAW All-Conference and All-Tournament teams. In 1980, Monroe was invited for tryout with the United States Olympic team.
