Troy Game Notes
· Troy’s captains were linebacker Bear Woods, offensive linemen Danny Franks and Steven Adams and defensive lineman Kevin Dixon
· Troy won the toss and deferred to the second half. FIU is defending the east end zone.
· Tebiarus Gill made his first start since Troy’s contest at Arkansas State on September 26.
· Daniel Sheffield recorded his first career sack on a 3rd-and-2 stop in the first quarter.
· Jerrel Jernigan scored his second touchdown of the season on a 40-yard highlight catch-and-run in the second quarter. It was the junior from Eufaula’s first score in 19 quarters going back to the second quarter of the season opener at Bowling Green.
· Senior tight end Travis Boyd made his first catch of the year, a 14-yard grab for a first down in the second quarter. He became the 14th Troy player to record a reception in 2009.
· 42 points is the most points scored by the Trojans in 2009.
· Bryan Willis’ third quarter interception was his second of the season and just the third of the year for Troy. It is the first for the Trojans since the UAB game (Barry Valcin).
· DuJuan Harris rushed for 86 yards on the game, his highest total of the season.
· Mario Addison recorded his first career sack on a third quarter takedown of FIU quarterback Paul McCall.
