Troy University Athletics
Strength & Conditioning Testing Standards
Each Troy University athlete is ranked by a point system, according to the athlete's progress in the following 12 categories: bench press, squat, hang clean, vertical jumps, height, weight, 40-yard dash, 12-yard dash, box jumps, dots, jump ropes and 225 reps. The squad is broken up into seven levels from highest to the lowest: Elite, Exclusive, Ultra, Super, Champion, Player and Trojan.
TROJAN CLUB SCORING SYSTEM
The Troy sports teams are scored annually via Head Strength & Conditioning Coach Richard Shaughnessy’s “Trojan Club Scoring System,” a system he designed and implemented at Troy in 1996. Athletes score points based on performance in eight strength & conditioning tests, with the highest scorers earning “elite” status.
