TROY, Ala. – The second of Troy's three patriotic-themed celebrations at The Vet during the 2026 season will take place on Saturday, Sept. 12, in conjunction with Troy's game against Alabama State, on First Responders Appreciation Day and Patriot Day.
Tailgate Terrace and areas adjacent to Veterans Memorial Stadium will feature static displays of emergency vehicles, and miniature American flags will be distributed to fans as they enter The Vet (while supplies last).
As part of the celebration honoring first responders who serve and all those who have answered the call of duty in honor of 25th Anniversary of September 11, 2001, there will be multiple recognitions and tributes honoring local first responders during the game. Additionally, uniformed first responders will lead the team during Trojan Walk.
To culminate the celebration, Troy native Shelia Jackson will perform God Bless America during the break between the third and fourth quarters.
Fans are encouraged to purchase Community Hero Season Tickets to be donated to first responders in the state of Alabama and their families to attend.
About Community Hero Ticket Program
Troy Athletics provides Community Hero tickets to military personnel, teachers, first responders, special needs organizations, and charity programs for children to attend home football games at The Vet.
The Community Hero Ticket Program allows all Trojan fans to unite and give back to deserving groups within our community. Additionally, the opportunity for these groups to attend these games, which in many cases they would not be able to attend on their own, will provide a lasting impression of the Troy University community with the individuals who benefit from this program.
