Troy Enters Sun Belt Conference Tournament as No. 4 Seed; Opens with No. 5 South Alabama

TROY, Ala.- Troy Baseball enters next week's Sun Belt Conference Tournament in Montgomery, Ala., as the No. 4 seed. The Trojans will square off with No. 5 seed South Alabama at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at DABOS Park.
The Trojans finished the conference season in a three-way tie for third place with App State and South Alabama at 17-13. Because the Mountaineers and Jaguars didn't meet in the regular season, the three teams' record against common conference opponents works as the tiebreaker.
In games against common opponents - Louisiana, ULM, Old Dominion, Georgia Southern, Marshall and Southern Miss - Â App State finished 11-7 while Troy and South Alabama both went 10-8. The Trojans hold the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Jaguars for the No. 4 seed after taking the rivalry series last week.
Troy finished the regular season by taking two of three games at ULM. The Trojans took game one on Thursday, 6-4, before falling 12-2 on Friday. In Saturday's rubber match, the Trojans blasted five home runs, including two grand slams from Blake Cavill, to win the regular season finale 13-3.Â
