Troy Hosting Fan Socials Ahead of SBC Tournament Games in Pensacola

TROY, Ala. – Troy basketball is heading back to Pensacola, Fla., and the Bay Center for the annual Sun Belt Conference Tournament, and Troy Athletics is hosting Fan Socials throughout the Trojans' stay in the City of Five Flags.

The Troy men head to Pensacola as the No. 1 seed after winning the SBC regular season title for the second straight season. Sun Belt Coach of the Year Scott Cross and his squad won 20 games for a fifth straight season and open play in the SBC Tournament on Sunday at 5 p.m.

The men earned a quintuple-bye straight into the semifinals, and if seeds hold, would square off against No. 4 App State to open their tournament run.

Led by Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Year Zay Dyer, the Troy women enter the SBC Tournament as the No. 2 seed, marking the ninth time in the last 11 seasons that Troy has entered as a top-three seed and an 11th straight year in the top four. The Trojans enter play with 24 wins on their resume already, just one shy of the school record of 25 set during a 25-4 run in 2019-20.

Head coach Chanda Rigby's squad also earned a quintuple-bye in the tournament and play on Sunday at 2 p.m., with a possible matchup against No. 3 Arkansas State in a rematch of last year's SBC semifinal.

Troy Athletics and the Troy Alumni Association are welcoming all of Trojan Nation in town for the tournament to join up for a pregame social at The Fish House, located at 600 S. Barracks St., each day to prepare for the big games.

Sunday's festivities will run from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., leading into what will be back-to-back games by the Troy women's and men's teams at the Bay Center. Fans are encouraged to check Troy's social media accounts (TroyAthletics) for details surrounding Monday's times.

Fans can enjoy complimentary refreshments plus a cash bar will be available. There will also be an opportunity to meet, gather and hear from members of Troy athletics and the Troy University Alumni Association before the games.
