TROY, Ala. – Troy men's basketball is headed to the Big Dance on Thursday, and Troy Athletics will host an official watch party at Baumhower's Victory Grille beginning at 11 a.m. before the Trojans take on Nebraska in the NCAA Tournament.
The Round of 64 matchup pits the No. 13 Trojans against No. 4 Nebraska in the South region, with both teams seeking their first-ever NCAA Tournament victory. Tipoff from the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, Okla., is set for 11:40 a.m. with Brandon Gaudin, Chris Webber and Andy Katz on the call on truTV.
Troy (22-11) advanced to its second-straight NCAA Tournament following two wins in the Sun Belt Tournament, culminating in a 77-61 victory over Georgia Southern on March 9. Thomas Dowd's 23-point, 13-rebound performance earned him the tournament's Most Outstanding Player award.
Dowd leads the Trojans with 17 double-doubles this season, hauling in 10.1 rebounds per game, good for 10th in the country. Victor Valdes is tied with Dowd for the team lead in scoring at 14.8 points per game.
In addition to truTV, fans can watch on the NCAA March Madness Live app and Max. The national radio broadcast will air on Westwood One with Ted Emrich and Casey Jacobsen, while Barry McKnight and Jerry Miller will have the Troy call on the Varsity Network and the over-the-air radio affiliates of the Troy Sports Media Network.
