Troy’s Feb. 7 Game Against Akron Elevated to ESPN2; Tip-Off Moved to 5 p.m.

TROY, Ala. - Troy men's basketball's game on Saturday, February 7 against Akron has been chosen to be elevated to ESPN2, with the contest now tipping off at 5 p.m. CT from Trojan Arena.
The game marks the third season in a row that Troy has played a regular season game on a linear ESPN network. Troy's road matchups in the two previous seasons at Arkansas State have been on national television.
The game will mark Troy's first nationally televised game from Trojan Arena since Feb. 25, 2022 against Texas State.
The game is part of the second slate of games in the MAC-SBC Challenge. Troy defeated Kent State in Ohio on the opening night of the season, 103-97 in one of Troy's five overtime games this year.
Troy (14-6, 7-1 SBC) currently sits atop the Sun Belt standings and is coming off a double-overtime road victory at Old Dominion on Wednesday night. Offensively, the Trojans rank first in the conference in several categories, including scoring (86.7 points per game), three-pointers made (10.4 per game), and assists (17.0 per game).
Akron (15-4, 6-1 MAC) is Troy's highest-ranked remaining opponent on the schedule according to the NCAA NET Rankings, with the Zips currently tabbed 54. Akron's lone conference loss came in a narrow defeat to No. 25 Miami (OH).
Troy is back in action on Saturday afternoon for an away contest at Georgia Southern, with tip-off set for 2 p.m.
