Trojans Welcome Pair of JUCO Schools for Fall Ball Games
9/30/2025 9:01:00 AM | Softball
TROY, Ala. – Following a win over Georgia Tech on Saturday to start the fall ball season, the Troy softball team hosts Northeast Alabama and Northwest Florida for a pair of games this week.
"The result we got to start [the fall season] is what we were shooting for," said head coach Eric Newell. "Northeast Alabama is going to be a solid junior college for sure, and we host Northwest Florida, the JUCO National Champions. Regardless of the level, it's about controlling the controllables. We have to show up every day and in every inning."
Northwest Florida visits the Troy Softball Complex fresh off an NJCAA Softball World Series National Championship, as the Raiders went 61-4 in 2025. Troy is no stranger to head coach Andy Lee and the Raiders, with the teams clashing in the fall numerous times.
The Trojans will face Northeast Alabama for the first time in program history – the Mustangs completed their inaugural softball season in the spring.
