9/26/2025 10:49:00 AM | Softball
TROY, Ala. – After retooling both the coaching staff and the roster over the offseason, Troy softball hits the diamond for the start of fall ball play on Saturday. Troy welcomes Georgia Tech to the Troy Softball Complex in a rematch of a fall ball game in 2024 and a regular-season tilt in 2025.
"We're excited to host Georgia Tech on Saturday, and we're looking forward to the start of the fall season," said head coach Eric Newell. "The team has been working hard and the staff has been impressed with the culture, effort and determination this group has shown in the first few weeks of practices."
Game Information
Who: Georgia Tech
Where: Troy, Ala. – Troy Softball Complex
When: Saturday, Sep. 27 – 1:30 p.m.
The battle against the Yellow Jackets kicks off an eight-game fall ball slate for the Trojans. After traveling to Atlanta, Ga., for a fall ball matchup against Georgia Tech last season, the Trojans host the Power Four team.
Over the offseason, the Trojans hired Elizabeth Hightower as the pitching coach – she'll have a new-look pitching staff to manage after Troy added Ella Cunningham and Emma Banks through the portal and signed freshman Abby Lovell.
On the offensive side, Troy brought in seven transfers and two freshmen. Kiley Huffman, Sophia Jenkins, Lydia Kirby, Kam Munson, Kyye Ricks, Kalee Rochinski and Amity White bolster the squad after transferring from across the nation. Newell also inked Jasmine Lawrence and Presley Ivey to the freshman class.
