Troy Falls in Tight Road Battle at Kennesaw State

KENNESAW, Ga. – Troy volleyball dropped a hard-fought three-set match at Kennesaw State on Sunday afternoon, falling 25-22, 25-23, 26-24 inside VyStar Arena.
Kennesaw State (5-3) leaned on a strong defensive effort to close out the sweep, finishing with 12 blocks. Haley Patterson tallied eight block assists, while Olivia Burrage added seven. Offensively, Manu Johnsen led all players with 13 kills on .281 hitting.
For Troy (2-4), Amiah Butler and Kalina Calvillo each recorded 12 kills, with Butler swinging at a .345 clip. Despite the offensive production, 10 service errors, including five in the opening set, proved costly.
Set 1- Kennesaw State 25, Troy 22
Troy hit a blistering .536 in the opener, led by six kills apiece from Butler and Olivia Kwiatkowski. But five service errors and three reception miscues allowed KSU, who hit .444, to grab the early advantage.
Set 2 – Kennesaw State 25, Troy 23
The Owls built a six-point cushion before Troy clawed back behind four service aces. Neither team hit above .000 in the frame, but Kennesaw State closed with three straight points, capped by back-to-back aces.
Set 3 – Kennesaw State 26, Troy 24
The final set featured eight ties and five lead changes. Troy led 15-12 and later reached set point at 24-23, but KSU responded with three straight points, including a Patterson block on match point to finish the sweep.

- With 12 kills today, Amiah Butler now has 1,101 for her career, passing Julie Keck (1994-97) for 10th on Troy's all-time list.
