Troy Adds Transfer Javier Gilgeous-Glasgow to 2025-26 Roster

TROY, Ala. - Head coach Scott Cross announced the addition of guard Javier Gilgeous-Glasgow to the 2025-26 roster on Friday.Â
"Javier is a high character, motivated student athlete that will fit perfectly into our basketball culture here at Troy", said Cross. "He will bring toughness, defensive grit, & tons of experience to our roster. He knows how to run a basketball team, and he is a great teammate too. We are excited to welcome this motivated young man into our Troy community. His impact will be felt on and off the court."Â
Gilgeous-Smith spent the 2024-25 season at Toronto Metropolitan University, where he averaged 12.5 points, 4.6 assists, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game while starting all 24 contests for the Bold. Â
The Ontario native shot 41.7 percent from the field and 31.1 percent from beyond the arc.Â
Prior to his time in Toronto, Gilgeous-Glasgow spent two seasons at Howard College in Texas, appearing in 58 games and averaging 4.2 points.Â
A participant in the 2022 BioSteel All-Canadian Game, Gilgeous-Glasgow won a National Championship with the Team Ontario U15 team in 2018.Â
Basketball runs in the family for Gilgeous-Glasgow, who is the cousin of NBA star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.Â
