TROY, Ala. – Always one of the most exciting and impactful games of the Troy Football season, Troy's annual Military Appreciation Game is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 22, when Troy hosts Georgia State at The Vet.
A tradition that dates back to 2000, Troy's Military Appreciation Day is a celebration of all branches of the United States Military, highlighted by the Walk of Heroes at halftime, where active duty, retired personnel and military veterans march across the field of The Vet as their service song is performed by the Sound of the South accompanied by a fireworks show.
Recent additions to the Military Appreciation Game include a giant American flag covering the field for the National Anthem before the game and flyovers featuring Blackhawk, Apache and Chinook helicopters from Fort Rucker.
Trojan Nation can help the Military community attend the game for free with the purchase of Community Hero Tickets for just $30 for a season ticket. Additionally, from now until July 30, fans who purchase five or more Community Hero tickets will receive a 15 percent off coupon from Trojan Threads, while those who purchase 10 or more Community Hero tickets will receive two free Stadium Club tickets to either the Nicholls or Memphis game.
About Community Hero Ticket Program
Troy Athletics provides Community Hero tickets to military personnel, teachers, first responders, special needs organizations, and charity programs for children to attend home football games at The Vet.
The Community Hero Ticket Program allows all Trojan fans to unite and give back to deserving groups within our community. Additionally, the opportunity for these groups to attend these games, which in many cases they would not be able to attend on their own, will provide a lasting impression of the Troy University community with the individuals who benefit from this program.
