TROY, Ala. – Troy University Athletics, in partnership with Clyde May's and Pete's Package Store, announced Wednesday a second limited run of single-barrel, cask strength (107 proof) bourbon featuring an exclusive Troy Athletics bottle and bag (while supplies last). The six-year-aged bourbon whiskey was hand-selected by members of the Troy Athletics administrative and coaching staff.
Following last October's rapid sellout, this year's batch was bottled at the new Conecuh Ridge Distillery in Troy and matured for an additional year. The bottle features a deep cardinal red label in honor of Troy, while two custom side labels showcase the Troy fight song and commemorate this finely crafted bourbon as the officially licensed bourbon of Troy University. Priced at $89.99, a portion of all sales will directly benefit Troy University.
"Clyde May's is distinctly Alabama, and we are proud to once again partner with them and Pete's Package Store to provide Trojan Nation with a one-of-a-kind bourbon," Troy Director of Athletics Kyle George said. "We are extremely grateful to L.C. May, David Ballew, Brian Chandler and the entire Clyde May's family for their continued support of Troy Athletics with our second officially licensed bourbon. For the Troy Athletics bottles to be among the first produced in Pike County adds an extra layer of exclusivity to these already limited-edition bottles."
The bottles will be available exclusively at Pete's Package Store in Troy. Pete's will accept presale orders beginning immediately, with in-store pickup starting Friday (Nov. 21).
Distilled since 1946 and legal since 2001, Clyde May's is the Official State Spirit of Alabama and is currently developing what will be the largest distillery in the state in Troy. Their portfolio includes 85-proof Alabama Style Whiskey, 92-proof Straight Bourbon Whiskey, 94-proof Straight Rye Whiskey, and an assortment of Cask Strength offerings.
