Troy Continues Fall Ball Schedule with Gulf Coast State and Tallahassee State

TROY, Ala. – The Troy softball team continues its fall ball slate with games against Gulf Coast State and Tallahassee State this week. The Trojans have gained valuable experience in their three fall ball wins thus far.
"The next two games for us will feature two more teams from the Florida Panhandle Conference," said head coach Eric Newell. "We'll strive for excellence in all phases of the game, continue to learn one another and gain valuable game experience."
On Wednesday, Troy takes on Gulf Coast State, which is led by former Virginia Tech head coach Scot Thomas. He coached former Trojan Cassidy Boltz while leading the Lady Commodores. The Trojans will also play Tallahassee State on Sunday.

Week Two Recap
During the second week of fall ball, the Trojans earned victories over Northeast Alabama and Northwest Florida.
Troy kicked off the week with a 7-1 win over Northeast Alabama, shutting down the Mustangs offense across nine innings. Savannah Money, Emma Banks and Esmee Ames combined to hold Northeast Alabama to just seven hits and struck out six batters.
On the offensive side, Kiley Huffman and Ella Cunningham logged multi-hit games. Dailynn Motes roped a two-RBI double into the gap to lead the Trojans in RBIs.
Against the Raiders on Friday, the Trojans won 12-6, as Motes continued her hot streak with a 4-for-4 game, driving in two runs. Sophie Jenkins, Kyye Ricks and Jasmine Lawrence all collected multi-hit games as well.
On the pitching side of things, Ella Cunningham mowed down the Raiders with four no-hit innings, striking out four batters. Emma Banks also struck out four batters, surrendering just one run in three innings of work.
