TROY, Ala. - Troy baseball is gearing up for another exciting season, and some new faces are set to be at the forefront of the Trojans' efforts in the 2025 season.Â
Head coach Skylar Meade and his staff went to work recruiting the transfer portal this summer, and a pair of pitchers they've brought in are receiving some national attention. Â
D1Baseball.com released its Top 85 Impact Transfer Pitchers and new Trojans Colby Frieda and Noah Edders were both on the list. Frieda was ranked No. 64 while Edders was ranked No. 70. Â
Frieda, a transfer from Kentucky, brings a big-time arm to the Trojans, having struck out 25.4% of the batters he's faced during his three seasons with the Wildcats. The 6'3" right-hander shined with the Brewster Whitecaps of the Cape Cod Baseball League this summer, striking out 16 hitters with just three walks.Â
Edders brings starting experience from Bradley, where he tossed 79 innings this past season, including going eight innings deep twice. The righty from Woodridge, Ill., fanned an impressive 76 hitters this spring, and had two starts where he racked up a career-high ten strikeouts. Â
Fans can get their first look at the 2025 Trojans this fall as they're set to head to Jackson, Tenn., to take on the defending national champion Tennessee Volunteers on October 27. The remainder of the Fall schedule will be announced at a later date.
