Nia Daniel Signs to Club Maristas

TROY, Ala. – A two-year letterwinner with the Troy women's basketball program, Nia Daniel signs with Club Maristas in Spain to continue her basketball career.
"I'm so happy that Nia is living her dream of playing professionally," head coach Chanda Rigby said. "She worked hard for this opportunity, and I'm confident that she will go make the most of it."
Club Maristas plays in the northwest corner of Spain in A Coruña. The announcement marks the third professional signing from the Class of 2024 with Tai'Sheka Porchia in Poland and Ja'Mia Hollings in France.
Daniel played 61 games for the Trojans with 57 starts, ending her career with 12.3 points, 1.0 assists, 1.1 steals and 4.1 rebounds while shooting 37.6 percent from the field, 28.3 from deep and 76.6 at the charity stripe. She totaled 37 games with 10-plus points and eight with 20-plus – career-high game against Southern Miss with 28 – ended 11-of-25 from the field with three triples. The Charlotte native showed her range with nine games with three or more triples in a game, including four in her final year – led the Trojans' active roster in 2023-24.
The leader in free throw percentage for the Trojans in 2022-23 with 78.3 percent (54-of-69), Daniel's key game in her senior season came in the Cajundome against Louisiana, where she erupted for 23 points on 10-of-18 shooting to lead the team to victory. She led the Trojans in scoring eight times in 2023-24 en route to bringing the team to its first postseason victory over FIU and a WNIT Fab 4 appearance – ended her career with a 39-25, 27-9 SBC record.
