Jimmy Janicki Ranked in Prep Baseball Report's Top 100 2024 Prospects Headed to Campus

TROY, Ala. - Troy catcher Jimmy Janicki is one of the newest members of the Trojans, and he's already generating some excitement ahead of his first season on campus.
Prep Baseball Report ranked its Top 100 class of 2024 prospects heading to college campuses and Janicki landed as the top-ranked incoming freshman in the Sun Belt Conference at No. 92 nationally. Â
Additionally, the Downers Grove, Ill., native ranked as the No. 9 incoming freshman catcher and for good reason. Janicki batted .410 during three varsity seasons at Downers Grove North HS, launching 13 homers and driving in 104 RBIs.Â
The 6'3" catcher also has a big-time arm behind the plate, gunning down 95% of base runners at second base. Â
Janicki finished his accomplished high school career with back-to-back selections on the Illinois All-State First Team.Â
