TROY, Ala. - Last week's MLB Draft saw a pair of Troy Trojans get their shot in professional baseball with outfielder Kole Myers getting selected in the ninth round by the Los Angeles Dodgers and right-handed pitcher Clete Hartzog signing a free agent deal with the Chicago White Sox. Now, the attention turns to the 2025 Draft where Troy has two highly coveted prospects. Â
D1Baseball.com released its top 100 college prospects for the 2025 MLB Draft, and Troy catcher Brooks Bryan (No. 22) and infielder Peyton Watts (No. 98) highlighted the list. Troy is one of three mid-major programs to have multiple players featured in the rankings, and the only program from the Sun Belt Conference. Â
Bryan, a sophomore from Opelika, Ala., was the No. 4 catcher on the list after a season which saw him rewrite the Troy record books with 85 RBIs. The All-Sun Belt First Team selection blasted 18 home runs with. a .279 batting average and .970 OPS before showcasing his power with some of the nation's best with the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team earlier this summer. Â
Watts, a freshman from Oxford, Ala., had a productive first season on campus and found his groove during Sun Belt play with a .289 batting average and .811 OPS against conference opponents. Watts launched five home runs with 30 RBIs and showcased his versatility on defense, tallying 3.78 defensive runs saved and a .978 fielding percentage while splitting time between second base, third base and the outfield. Â
A Troy player has been selected in 16 of the last 21 MLB Drafts with 28 overall selections since 2004 and will look to continue that trend next summer. Â
