Troy Adds Southeastern Louisiana to 2027 Football Schedule

TROY, Ala. – Troy Football added Southeastern Louisiana to its 2027 football schedule, Director of Athletics Brent Jones announced Monday. It's the second home game on the slate for 2027, joining a previously announced visit from Mississippi State.
The game, slated for Sept. 4, is the 2027 season opener, with Mississippi State on the books two weeks later for its second-ever visit to The Vet on Sept. 18; Troy hosted Mississippi State during the 2012 season.
The matchup with the Lions will be the 20th all-time between the two programs, but just the second since Troy moved to the FBS ranks and first since the Trojans joined the Sun Belt Conference. Troy defeated Southeastern Louisiana, 28-0, in 2003 after the Lions won three consecutive games in the early 80s. The first meeting between the two schools came in 1942, and the schools played twice in the 50s before meeting every year from 1970 to 1983.
