Brooks and Guenveur Honored for Academic Excellence

TROY, Ala. – Troy volleyball's Julia Brooks and Ashley Guenveur were recently honored for their academic excellence at the Troy University Honor's Convocation.
Brooks, a junior majoring in physical education, received the Outstanding Student Award in Physical Education from the College of Health and Human Services. Brooks was also selected for the CSC Academic All-District team earlier this year.
During the 2023 season, Brooks became the all-time leader in Troy program history for most career solo and total blocks. She recently represented the Sun Belt Conference at the NCAA Leadership Forum
Guenveur, who has been a member of the Sun Belt Commissioners list for maintaining a GPA above 3.5 during her time with the Trojans, received the Phi Kappa Phi Outstanding Senior Award. She will graduate with a degree in Elementary Education in May.
The Menomonee Falls, Wisc. native appeared in 79 matches playing in 256 sets in her four seasons with the Trojans. She has totaled 406 kills, with a career-high 21 kills and 23 points in the Trojan's five-set thrilling win over Coastal Carolina in her freshman year. In addition, Guenvuer has posted 43 assists, 49 aces, 41 blocks, and 511 digs throughout her time at Troy.
