Women's Golf Finishes Tenth at Sun Belt Championship

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Troy wrapped play at the Sun Belt Women's Golf Championship Tuesday as the Trojans slipped into 10^th place at the LPGA International Hills Course.

Troy entered the day tied for sixth place but shot 22-over par to drop four spots on a jumbled leaderboard as the gap between fourth place and 10th place was just 13 shots. ULM and Texas State finished tied after 54 holes before the Warhawks won on a second playoff hole to claim the league title.

ShaeLee Scarberry and Elisabeth Preus played the final rounds of their Trojan careers on Tuesday, shooting 77 and 78, respectively. Scarberry finished in a tie for 21^st place to lead the Trojans for the sixth time in 12 events this season, while Preus finished in a tie for 31^st place.

Alyssa Mercado carded Troy's best round of the day with her third straight 77 to finish in 35^th place, while Laura Fangmeyer carded a team-best three birdies in the round to shoot 6-over and finish in 26^th place in her first Sun Belt appearance. Fangmeyer carded 10 birdies over the three rounds to tie for the most in the field.

Head coach Randy Keck subbed Bruna Roqueta into his lineup for Tuesday's final round and she shot 8-over in the round.

Troy finishes the 2022-23 season 81-62-1 on the year with six top-four finishes, including a second-place performance at The Atlantic Invitational to open the spring season.
