Troy Descends on New Orleans Wednesday for Sun Belt Media Day

TROY, Ala. – The countdown clock for the 2022 college football season is nearing its expiration and one of the checklist items to help reach that point takes place Wednesday with Troy's trip to New Orleans for the Sun Belt's annual Football Media Day.
New this year for the event is a two-day format, with the East Division taking center stage on Tuesday and the West Division getting the spotlight on Wednesday. Thanks to the infusion of new members in the league, Troy has transitioned to the West Division beginning with this season.
Head coach Jon Sumrall will be joined in New Orleans by a pair of multi-year All-Sun Belt First Team selections in linebacker Carlton Martial and left tackle Austin Stidham. The trip marks the second straight Media Day for Martial and the second consecutive year that Troy has featured an offensive lineman after Dylan Bradshaw represented the Trojans in 2021.
Following a visit to The National WWII Museum on Tuesday, Martial, Sumrall and Stidham will have a busy day Wednesday with 16 different interviews or media sessions over an eight-hour period at the New Orleans Sheraton on Canal Street.
Troy will be the first team featured on the main stage Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. ESPN+ will have live coverage of all seven teams' appearances on the main stage and will mix in visits to the Sun Belt Studio throughout the day as well.
