Track and Field’s Season Ends on Day Three of NCAA East Preliminary

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Troy track and field season ends on day three of the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field East Preliminary round on Friday as Javon Osbourne finishes 30th at the Haugh Track & Field Complex.
Osbourne competed in the discus event as a member of flight one. Seeded 36th, Osbourne placed fifth in the flight after a 52.36m throw on his first attempt. However, the freshman fouled on his next two throws, locking in his seventh-best throw of the season. When the final two flights finished, Osbourne ended up 30th overall, ending Troy's season.
Friday's final throw concludes Osbourne's season, which involved a team-high eight podium finishes and four gold medals. The Jamaica native snapped the program's discus record at the War Eagle Invite with a 55.64m throw. Two of Osbourne's podium finishes came at the SBC Championships in the shot put and discus event to propel him to the All-Sun Belt Outdoor Second team.
