TROY, Ala. – NFL and CFL scouts descended on Troy's North End Zone Facility and Veterans Memorial Stadium Thursday as six Troy outgoing seniors worked out in Troy's annual Pro Day.
Long snapper Cameron Kaye, who played in both the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl and the Hula Bowl, was crisp throughout the morning workout, while B.J. Smith, Jordan Anthony, Reggie Todd, Cherokee Glasgow and Tray Eafford also turned some eyes.
Kaye ran between a 4.88 and a 4.93 on his 40-yard dash depending on the stopwatch at the finish line; a 4.88 would have been the fastest among all long snappers invited to the NFL Combine since 2013, and the 4.93 would have ranked second over that same period. Kaye was also sharp during his long snapping drills unleashing times of 0.69 and 0.70 seconds on his punt snaps.
Smith and Eafford posted the fastest 40-yard dash times of the day, with Eafford clocking 4.53 on his first run and Smith posting a 4.56 on his second attempt. In addition, Eafford posted a 10-foot-8 broad jump – would have been eighth-best at the Combine among receivers – and a 37-inch vertical – would have been ninth-best at the Combine among receivers.
Smith was also strong on the inside drills posting a 35-inch vertical and 20 reps on the 225-pound bench press. His vertical would have ranked seventh among running backs at the Combine, and his bench tied for fifth.
